Tim our most loyal guest and his son in law Garrett joined Iain and Colin for these 3 days as well.  Tim was able to show someone in his family what his love affair with powder was all about. Garrett caught on quickly and got right to charging powder runs in the alpine and trees.

Phil, John and Henry also joined us for a sampling of what Eagle Pass is all about for a day – there were big smiles all around at the end of their day out in the mountains.

After the 3 day guests departed Colin and Tim continued for the remainder of the week.  See the next story for their continued adventure.

Blue skies were predominant for the first few days.  This allowed for lunches in the sunshine and beautiful alpine runs, commencing with “Pete’s Run”, a dramatic pitch that they first skied and named last season.  A wolverine was spotted traveling in the valley adjacent to Wolverine Glacier, whose dry, sparkling snow provided plenty of enjoyment for everyone.  More perfect snow and awesome cruising lines were found in the sun-sheltered trees and open glades of future favorites, “Lumberjack” and “Tally-Ho”.

As the stormy weather moved in, we shifted to “Bullwinkle” and other exceptional burnt tree runs.  Even when a short-lived fog bank enclosed in on us, the team remained extremely positive and enjoyed the experience of a campfire in the woods!

The evening banter was always pleasantly loud and fun, with highlights being toasts to Will’s 60^th birthday and a trip to the nearby hot pools.

What can we say about Tim? He wrote the book on heliskiing, Tim rocks! This was Tim’s second of three week long trips booked with us this season. He will be taking the week off and back again for another week!

Sheldon drove up from Seattle for some powder turns and found one of his patients was here skiing with us as well. We hope the powder skiing was worth the drive.

Brian only skis a few days a season outside of skiing with Eagle Pass Heliskiing. He “prefers” powder. We can’t argue with that.

Nik and Ronald are a powder-loving father and son team. It was a pleasure skiing with them both and showing them around our tenure before they were off to the Olympics to watch the events live.

Richard and his collection of snowboards made it back again this year. He rode with other boarders Katherine, Tyeson and Maitreya. Watch for the great chest camera footage in the best of February. This guy knows what he is doing on his board.

George and Courtney skied with enthusiasm and huge smiles. George maneuvered through the trees like a pro and Courtney could be found jumping off everything possible and with great skill. Check out Courtney’s shot of the week in the gallery.

David, Ian and Derek are also very strong skiers. We were happy to get their legs burning by showing them around Eagle Pass’ tenure. David skied on the 4FRNT EHP’s and also the Viice Skis – Wasatch Wonder demo skis from Salt Lake and loved them both. Word has it that they met up with our Client Services Manager at the Olympics and were treated to a once in a lifetime opportunity at one of the Olympic hockey games.

Gavin, John and Don are all very good skiers, able to handle top to bottom alpine runs. They get together for a ski trip every year and made it out for two separate days with Eagle Pass.

Tyeson used to snowboard pro, he is now working with film crews and is a great snowboarder. Tyeson brought along his girl Maitreya for her first time heliskiing experience. It was a success.

The Aussie boys were back. They did a run in the alpine topless as you will see!

We also had Arne, Daniel, Erik, James, Dale, Doug, Mike, Jim, David, Brian and Eckart join us for a day. After a taste of the goods we hope to see them all back for more.

Conditions have been very good, with lots of powder skiing and boarding in the alpine and the perfectly spaced Monashees trees.  Despite the fact that the lawn is showing at the lodge elevation, the snow pack is fat in our ski zones.  Check out the recent photos in the “Ski Stories” section of our website to see for yourself!

Richard was able to escape from a busy and hectic work schedule for trip number two this season.  He made himself right at home and quickly got to know all of the other guests.  He enjoyed more soul turns in the powder and even tried out the NoBoard!  By the end of the week he had made plans to book when Pam and Lesly come again next year and to potentially be back one more time for back country Noboarding and heliboarding!

Matt, also a return guest  came alone because  his regular group had skied with us the week before and he wasn’t able to make it.  He did what any powder loving skier would do.  He cleared his schedule and managed to make it to Revelstoke for 2 days of powder heaven.

We were more than excited when Pam and Lesly booked a last minute heliski trip with us.  Not only because we are always excited to show new guests what we are all about but because they were women and they were coming alone (which we don’t encounter very often).  Pam was able to come to Revelstoke a couple of days early and take in the local scene.  Being a local Aspen girl herself she fit right into our quaint ski town.  She met locals and hiked to secret stashes at the resort, met with our guides who were on days off for coffee, spent time with the girls at the Eagle Pass office and even passed on her renowned massage skills to friends and our very own massage therapist at Eagle Pass.  It was a perfect way to settle in before her dear friend Lesly arrived for heliskiing.  Pam and Lesly met over 15 years ago and continue to meet up at least 2 times per year even though Lesly has now moved to Israel from Aspen, CO.  They first met there and it is where Pam still resides.  These ladies were not lying when they told us they were advanced skiers.  They showed their stuff when matched with any of the boys.  Fun and always smiling the happy go lucky ladies were a great addition, they both spread their positive attitudes throughout the lodge and mountains.  We are very happy to report that they have already booked for 2011.

Day skiers included Canadians Matthew, Ian and Peggy, Australian wild men Stephen x 2 and Lee, and Norwegians Bjarne and Haavard.

These men from Sydney, Australia celebrated Australia Day and even took in the Olympic torch ceremony in the city of Revelstoke after their dinner at the lodge.   From day one of their five day adventure not even Chris’ lost luggage could slow them down.  The group of three were able to ski 52,000 vertical meters or 170,500 feet in just 6 days!
