Snow Report

The snow conditions in the Monashee Mountains are excellent.  There is currently more than 250 cm (8 feet) of settled snow at treeline and in the alpine there is 300+cm (10-12 feet) of settled snow.  In the last few days 40 cm of low density new snow has fallen, and another 30-40cm is expected by the weekend!

The coverage is good, with good skiing at all elevations and on all aspects.  It is shaping up to be an incredible winter!

Staff and Guides Training

In early December the Eagle Pass Heliskiing guide team gathered in Revelstoke for a week of intensive pre-season training.  Safety procedures, operations protocols, terrain familiarization and snow pack observations were reviewed.  The pilots spent time doing their early season training and familiarization as well.

New this season to Eagle Pass Heliskiing is an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) which will be carried on board the helicopter during the ski day, and will be located at Griffin Lake Lodge the rest of the time.  The AED is a proven life-saving device, increasing the level of medical care for our clients and staff.

During the training week snow conditions were very good, with excellent early season coverage.  We experienced January snow conditions in early December!  It felt great to be out skiing again in the Monashees, and flying in our sporty red A-Star B2.
