At Eagle Pass Heli skiing, safety is always our first priority.
Our guides are certified to meet or exceed the qualification requirements of our industry's professional association, HeliCat Canada. The Ski Guides at Eagle Pass Heliskiing are professionally certified by one of the following organisations; the Canadian Ski Guides Association (CSGA), the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG), or the international Federation of Mountain Guides Associations (IFMGA). All guides are experienced in avalanche forecasting, advanced first aid, mountain and avalanche rescue.
The safety of our guests is our primary consideration at Eagle Pass Heli Skiing. All guests are asked follow their guides’ instructions carefully. Eagle Pass Heli skiing has a comprehensive Risk Management Program and Rescue Plan in place with regards to skiing and flying. We are in daily contact with the Canadian Avalanche Association and neighbouring Heliskiing and Snowcat skiing operations, and EPH takes part in the industries ‘InfoEx” program. Our guides meet twice daily to discuss and evaluate the snow stability, weather, and ski operations. Conditions are continually evaluated with field tests and observations, and communications with other guides. Our years of experience in the industry allow us meet or exceed our professional association’s high standards.
All our guests will be required to attend and participate in a heli skiing and helicopter safety briefing and avalanche transceiver exercise prior to skiing/boarding.
Guests will also be asked to share the duty of carry a light pack containing additional avalanche rescue equipment and a radio. The radio gives the ability to contact the guide, pilot or lodge in the case of an emergency.
For the upcoming 2009 season, Eagle Pass Heliskiing will be going the extra yard and providing each client with the "SnowPulse" flotation device.
Eagle Pass Heliskiing hires guides on the combination of their mountain skills and abilities, their professional qualifications and experience, their zest and love of the mountains, and their enthusiasm at sharing their ‘office’ with folks like you. We are pleased to have the following guides on our team for this upcoming season:
