The Monashee Range is famous for its tree skiing, and at Eagle Pass Heliskiing, we have discovered huge areas of naturally well spaced trees that are perfect for skiing and riding through. The forests of the Monashees bear little resemblance to forests in other mountain areas. The trees are so well spaced taht finding your own natural 'line' is very easy.

In the trees, the snow is protected from both the wind and the sun and experienced heliskiers know that this is where the best snow conditions are normally found. There are also the aspects of the greater sensation of speed as you travel through the openings, and a sense of adventure and exploration. It is a sensation that is difficult to describe, but addicting when experienced.

At Eagle Pass Heliskiing we can boast some of the best, naturally spaced tree skiing in the world.

Most of tree skiing is in the mid elevations, where we ski and board through 120 foot tall Spruce and Alpine Firs. Some runs continue down through huge old-growth 800 year old Cedar trees. Eagle Pass also has numerous runs that are located in old burnt forest. These runs are very open and are exciting to ski and snowboard through.

With the large amount of dry powder that falls within the Monashees, the chances of riding through the open glades and timber are quite high. During stormy weather we spend much of our time skiing and riding these amazing forests. The base facilities are strategically located close to plenty of “stormy weather” tree skiing runs. Presently, we have close to 30 runs within 5 minutes flight from the lodge.

Tree skiing. This where the term “Steep and Deep” originated. At Eagle Pass Heliskiing we have a variety of gladed terrain to suit all skiers, from gentle cruisers to the steep and challenging.

Come and see why heliskiiers from around the world flock to this area for their Canadian Heliskiing adventure.    (click on the heliskiing photos below to enlarge)
