It is essential that each guest familiarize themselves with the terms and conditions and the information on our website. By submitting a registration form, deposit, or payment, you agree to be legally bound by the terms and conditions below:
In this document, “Heliski” or “Heliskiing” includes heli snowboarding, heli telemark skiing, heli “noboarding”, and heli access ski and snowboard touring.
Eagle Pass Heliskiing Ltd. (EPH, “we” and “us”) is the provider of all Heliskiing, packages, and services described in our marketing materials and in your booking confirmation.
EPH offers three Heliskiing programs:
A. Day Program - Our Day Program is based on “runs skied” and includes up to 8 runs at the price set out in your booking confirmation. We will make best efforts to provide at least 6 runs per day. If we do not, refunds will be issued in accordance with the policies below. Additional runs may be purchased, but only by complete groups of 4 guests.
B. Lodge Based Program - Our Lodge Based Program includes private accommodations at our lodge, all meals, and unlimited Heliskiing. We will make best efforts to provide a full day of Heliskiing on each day set out in your booking confirmation. We guarantee an average of at least 3,000 vertical metres of skiing per day booked. If we do not achieve that average, refunds will be issued in accordance with the policies below.
C. Private Program - If you make a private Heliskiing reservation, you are chartering a private helicopter for the minimum flight hours on each day set out in your booking confirmation. Private bookings are made on the following terms:
i. We will make best efforts to provide the minimum flight hours for each day of your booking. If we do not achieve that amount, refunds will be issued in accordance with the policies below;
ii. We will provide guides in the following ratios:
|3 guests or less||2 guides|
|4-8 guests||2-4 guides|
|8+ guests||1 guide per 4 guests|
iii. Our Lead Guide will inform you when you are approaching your minimum flight hours each day. It will be your decision whether to continue Heliskiing beyond the minimum flight hours and you will be charged at the rate of $6300/hour for each portion of an hour (calculated in 6-minute intervals) by which you exceed the minimum flight hours.
iv. Unless otherwise set out below, you will be responsible for paying:
A. For each day of your booking, the greater of the minimum flight hours and the flight hours actually used;
B. For each guide booked, the Guide Service Fee set out in your booking confirmation; and
C. The Group Administration Fee set out in your booking confirmation (which will only be charged for each separate booking).
You are solely responsible for ensuring:
A. You have fully and accurately completed our registration form;
B. You have a valid passport and all required visas to enter Canada;
C. You are on time and prepared to ski on each Heliski day, regardless of the weather or road conditions;
D. You are healthy and not experiencing symptoms of any illness on each Heliski day;
E. You are able to ski at an advanced level (black diamond runs);
F. You are experienced skiing ALL types of terrain in DEEP POWDER conditions (knee deep+), including trees, glades, steeps, chutes, and variable snow conditions;
G. You have previous Heliski, Catski, or ski touring experience; and
H. You are physically fit and prepared to ski for a whole day
EPH does not have intermediate terrain. If you cannot complete the day because of fitness level or ability, you may be asked to wait in a safe area in the backcountry until lunch is served or for the remainder of the day.
As part of the price set out in the booking confirmation, we will provide:
A. Heliskiing in groups of up to 4 guests with no more than 3 groups per helicopter;
B. Professionally certified Heliski guides;
C. Gourmet lunch, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages (all programs) and breakfast and dinner (Lodge Based Program);
D. Helicopter safety and avalanche training;
E. Use of an avalanche transceiver, shovel, airbag, personal radio, and probe;
F. Use of powder skis/snowboards and poles; and
G. Emergency medical coverage as described in the “Insurance” section of these terms and conditions.
A. Your booking is not confirmed until a completed registration form, waiver, and deposit are received from each guest in your group.
B. At the time of booking, you and each member of your group must sign an electronic waiver and pay a deposit equal to 30% of the booking price, plus applicable taxes (the “Deposit”). Except as otherwise provided in these terms, the Deposit is strictly non-refundable once paid.
C. We will permit you to change group members up to 30 days prior to the start of your booking. If you wish to change a guest, you must notify us in writing by email to email@example.com and include the new group member’s name and contact information. The change is only effective when the new group member has signed an electronic waiver (which is required at the time of the substitution) and we have confirmed the change in writing to you.
D. You must pay any balance owing no later than October 1st. If you book after October 1st, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Except as otherwise provided in these terms, all payments are strictly non-refundable once paid.
E. All payment shall be in Canadian dollars (CAD). A 5% Goods and Services Tax will be applied to each booking and is not included in any listed package prices. An $8 per day Provincial Sales Tax will be applied to each lodge booking and is not included in any listed prices.
F. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Bank Transfers, cheques, and Interac Email Money Transfers (Interac Transfers are only available for Canadian guests and are limited to $3,000 CAD per transaction).
G. Payment for additional runs (Day Program), additional hours (Private Program), incidental costs you incur during your booking (liquor/wine/beer and retail purchases) is immediately due and payable at the end of your stay.
Prior to commencing Heliskiing with us, you will be required to:
A. Attend helicopter, avalanche, and mountain safety training sessions.
B. Complete any additional documentation as required by us, including a health declaration;
C. Sign a waiver in paper form to confirm you understand you have given up legal rights, including the right to sue; and
D. Complete any health or epidemic testing as may be required by government authorities or us, in our sole discretion.
If you fail or refuse to complete any of these steps, your booking will be cancelled, and no refund will be provided.
A. Heliskiing is a unique experience that is highly subject to weather and snowpack conditions. These conditions are constantly changing and add an element of complexity to each Heliski day. We reserve the right to cancel a Heliski day, in part or in whole, for any reason, including inclement weather, avalanche conditions, operational emergencies, mechanical reasons, pandemics, or insufficient guest bookings.
B. Except as provided in these terms and conditions, EPH will not provide you with a refund or compensation for any expenses related to your booking or trip to Revelstoke, including airfare, car rentals, and accommodations. EPH strongly recommends that you purchase trip cancellation insurance.
C. While we try our best to group skiers and boarders by ability level, no refunds shall be provided if your group skis at a greater or lesser ability than you. Booking in a group of 4 is strongly recommended to ensure consistent ability level.
D. Refunds may be applied to future bookings made at the time of the refund and will otherwise be refunded in Canadian Dollars via your original payment method. Refunds cannot be applied to incidental costs you incur during your stay (liquor/wine/beer and retail purchases). No adjustments will be made to the refund to account for differences in the exchange rate between the time payment was made and the refund was issued.
E. Full Cancellation by EPH prior to start: We may cancel your booking at any time prior to the scheduled start time (Day Program) or scheduled arrival day (Lodge Based Program and Private Program). If we do, you will be given the opportunity to reschedule to a date later in the same season. If a mutually agreeable date cannot be scheduled that season, we will provide you with a full refund, including your Deposit.
F. Day Program Guarantees: Our day program is based on “runs skied”:
i. If a Heliski day commences and we do not achieve a minimum of 6 runs, a refund will be provided to you in the following amounts, plus applicable taxes:
ii. If you arrive late, injure yourself, decide to end your day earlier than the other guests or the guide, or are instructed to stop skiing because we (in our sole discretion) determine that you are not physically fit or able, no refund will be provided, even if the run minimum is not met for other reasons.
G. Lodge Based Program Guarantees. Our Lodge Based Program is based on “vertical skied”:
i. If we cancel a whole Heliski day during your scheduled stay, for each day cancelled you will receive a refund equal to $1,485, plus applicable taxes, and the guaranteed metres will be reduced by 3,000 metres.
ii. At the end of your scheduled stay, the total vertical you have skied will be calculated. If the total vertical skied averages less than 3,000 meters per day, you will be provided a refund at the rate of $139 per 1,000 meters of shortfall (the “Averaging Refund”).
iii. If at any point during your program you arrive late for a Heliski day, injure yourself, decide to end your day earlier than the other guests or the guide, or are instructed to stop skiing because we (in our sole discretion) determine that you are not physically fit or able, no Averaging Refund will be provided for any portion of your program.
H. Private Program Guarantees. Our private program is based on “hours flown”:
i. If you have booked a Private Program for multiple consecutive days, and we cancel a whole Heliski day once your program has commenced, you may apply the minimum flight hours for that day to rest of your program. If they cannot be applied to the rest of your program, they will be refunded at the end of your booking at the rate set out in your booking confirmation. You will remain responsible for paying any Group Administration Fee or Guide Service Fees attributable to the cancelled day.
ii. At the end of your scheduled stay, the total hours you have flown will be calculated. If the total hours flown equals less than cumulative minimum flight hours set out in your booking confirmation, no refunds shall be provided unless we have cancelled full days (as described above) or have used the private helicopter for operational requirements.
iii. If on any day of your program your minimum flight hours are not achieved because you arrive late, injure yourself, decide to end your day earlier than the other guests or the guide, or are instructed to stop skiing because we (in our sole discretion) determine that you are not physically fit or able, no refund will be provided, even if the minimum flight hours are not met for other reasons.
I. Guest Cancellation. If you wish to cancel your booking, you must notify us in writing by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Your cancellation is only effective at the time we confirm the cancellation in writing to you.
i. If your cancellation is confirmed by us prior to October 1st, your Deposit plus applicable taxes shall be forfeited to us and all other payment refunded to you. If the cancellation is confirmed on or following October 1st, no refunds will be provided to you.
ii. If you cancel on or following October 1st, you may attempt to find a replacement guest for your booking to be transferred to up to 30 days prior to the start of your booking. If you cannot transfer your booking by that time or notify us that you are unable to find a replacement, we will make best efforts to resell your booking on the following terms:
A. We will try to resell the booking at full price;
B. If we resell your booking, we will charge you a Resale Fee equal to the greater of $100 CAD per seat resold or 5% of the total pre-tax booking price, plus applicable taxes, and the balance of any amounts paid by you for the resold seats will be refunded to you; and
C. No refunds will be provided to you for any portions of your booking that we are unsuccessful in reselling.
iii. If you do not purchase trip cancellation insurance, and we cannot find a paying guest to replace your space, we reserve the right to fill this space with a staff member or partner. In such case, no refund shall be provided to you.
A. In light of the refund and cancellation policies set out above, trip cancellation insurance is strongly recommended to cover for unforeseen circumstances that may interrupt or cancel your Heliski trip. We do not provide such insurance but may recommend providers if necessary.
B. We will provide limited emergency medical travel Insurance as part of your package purchase. All claims require you seeing a physician. A copy of the policy wording is available upon request. We strongly recommend you purchase your own medical travel insurance to ensure complete coverage during your trip.
Minors (under 19 years of age) are welcome to participate in Heliski programs on the following terms:
A. Minor guests are permitted only as part of a complete group of 4 that includes a legal guardian and with at least one guardian per minor;
B. Minors must be at least 12 years old and capable of meeting the ability and fitness levels described in the “Guest Responsibility” section.
C. The minor’s legal guardian must sign a waiver on behalf of the minor prior to participation, and the minor must sign a waiver dated for the day they turn 19.
D. The minor’s legal guardian must accompany the minor at all times during Heliskiing activities.
You grant us permission to use images of you (including any motion picture or still photographs made by us) for any purposes in connection with promoting EPH and its activities. You understand that your personal information, including images, is being collected pursuant to section 26 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 165.
The following refund policy will apply if EPH cancels your booking because of reasons related to COVID-19, or if you are prevented from completing your booking because of a reason related to COVID-19 that are outside of your control, including travel issues, closed borders, and local outbreaks. In such case:
A. If EPH must cancel, we will notify you as soon as possible via the email address you provided at the time of booking;
B. If you must cancel, you will notify us as soon as possible via email to email@example.com;
C. Your Deposit will be held by EPH and credited to a booking at EPH in the 2021-2022 season;
D. If the cancellation is made prior to October 1, 2020, the deadline for full payment of your booking will be extended to October 1, 2021;
E. Unless otherwise instructed by you, EPH will refund payments in excess of the Deposit to you no later than 90 days following the last day of your cancelled booking (e.g. if your trip was scheduled for February 9-12, 2021 and a COVID-19 related issue prevented you from completing it, EPH would issue refunds by no later than May 12, 2021);
F. An administration fee equal to the greater of:
i. 5% of your total invoice; or
will be applied to the invoice for your rescheduled booking and must be paid prior to October 1, 2021.
This refund policy, if applicable, will supersede any other refund and cancellation policy in these terms and conditions.
